🎨 Chalk the Block, Hocus Pocus and 18 Things to Do This Week

Plus: Midland's story in 52 cards, Día de los Muertos and our first Pet of the Week

A note from Ryan & Terra

Saturday is one of those days when Midland shows off. Chalk the Block covers the streets around Centennial Park in giant chalk art, the Arts Council throws its free Día de los Muertos festival, and Hocus Pocus plays at the Wagner Noël that night. Costumes encouraged.

Also this week: Brandy Bell turned Midland's people, places and stories into 52 illustrated cards, and we're starting something new at the bottom of the issue, Pet of the Week with our friends at Grand Companions. First up is Hopper, and she has already decided she wants your lap.

Hopper, a 6-month-old kitten up for adoption at Grand Companions
Meet Hopper
6-month-old kitten · Grand Companions

Hopper doesn't wait to be invited. She marches right up, hops into your lap and asks for attention. She loves people, gets along with other cats and is always up for playing or exploring. She is fixed, microchipped and vaccinated for her age, so she is ready to go home.

Call Grand Companions at 432-426-3724, any day 9 AM to 5 PM.
