Midland College Bond Vote: What You Need to Know

Midland College is proposing a $450 million bond in the May 3 election to expand and modernize its facilities, addressing the growing workforce needs in the Permian Basin. With over 218,000 new workers needed in industries like oil and gas, healthcare, and skilled trades, the college aims to increase capacity and provide better training opportunities.

Key projects in the bond include:

✅ $277M Applied Technology Complex – Hands-on training for skilled trades, oil and gas, and engineering.
✅ $43M Health Sciences Expansion – More space for nursing, medical assisting, and mental health programs.
✅ Campus Upgrades – Renovations to classrooms, student spaces, and technology centers.

If approved, the bond would increase property taxes by 5.5 cents per $100 valuation (about 13.3 cents total).

LAST DAY OF EARLY VOTING: Tuesday, April 26, 2025
